The 3rd Space Experiment

THE 3RD SPACE EXPERIMENT was birthed through transcending the waters that swirled with the Familiar and Unfamiliar. During my immersion programme in Glasgow, I experienced an unsettling notion of living dual lives; my temporary life in Glasgow and the life I would return to in Singapore after 3 weeks. I requested recordings from those back home and went around the neighbourhoods and city of Glasgow to record my own audio clips. A soundscape overlaying familiar and unfamiliar sounds constructed The 3rd Space. Back in Singapore, I extended the project and created The 3rd Space Experiment using the soundscape, and charcoal footsteps. I tracked movements within The 3rd Space then recorded my process and findings in the booklet.
